Medical retina
In certain conditions, it is necessary to examine the retina for any abnormalities.
For example in age-related macular degeneration and diabetes, the retina needs to be checked with the biomicroscope, an OCT scan and/or a fluo-angiography examination.
A check-up for diabetes almost always requires the insertion of pupil dilating eye drops for a thorough check-up. These eye drops make a blurred vision, so the patient should definitely come in with a driver.
